District History
The Delight School District served the community for many years, with its proud Bulldogs leaving a lasting legacy in the hearts of Delight residents. However, due to declining student enrollment, the district was required by the Arkansas Board of Education to merge with an adjacent district.
On February 25, 2010, the Delight School District formally requested merger into the neighboring Murfreesboro School District. The merger took effect on July 1, 2010, with the Murfreesboro district absorbing Delight and renaming itself the South Pike County School District — serving an expanded region of Pike and Clark counties.
Though the Delight school is no longer operating independently, the Delight Bulldogs remain a cherished part of the town's identity and history. The community's pride in its school legacy lives on.
